Couldn’t resist

Sure, I know that I have repeatedly said that I would not cast on new projects until I finish a project, and that I have two projects that I haven’t finished…but I just couldn’t resist.

Raha Scarf from Knitted Lace in Estonia – done in two days and gorgeous.  It just had its bath and its drying now…so more details when its dry and I can take better pictures.

I’m trying really hard not to look at the other patterns in the book – but I find myself looking at a pattern, and then flipping to Ravelry to look at my stash….

I ended up frogging the socks – just too big.  I started over today with Tidal Wave socks but decreased the stitch count.  Now its pooling and I can’t decide if I like it – I’m used to this yarn being sort of stripey.  Not pooling in clumbs.  It is probably not a good sign that I keep on stopping and staring at it.  If I frog it again, the yarn is going back in the stash, and my sister will have to pick something else.

OK, back to knitting my sweater.  Almost the weekend!

Yes, but really, who makes up these knitting rules? The scarf looks lovely. Is that the yarn from Rhinebeck?

  3. Suzanne says:

Its beautiful!! Good thing I don’t have that rule about finishing, I must have about 10 projects started! I eventually finish…

My mantra of “must finish UFO before casting on” doesn’t work for me either….. the scarf looks wonderful! I like the color.

I couldn’t wait to finish a project before starting something from that book either. The scarf looks lovely so far. I can’t wait to see more pictures of it. I want to knit that pattern too(or most of the patterns in the book.)

That is beautiful, and so quick too! That book is on my Amazon wishlist, so I’m hoping I get it for Christmas! Love the yarn too, it’s really pretty.

The scarf is gorgeous! I say put the sock aside and find a project with more love. 🙂

Oh dear, I have this book and was hoping to keep it unopened as a Christmas present for myself – I don’t know if I can resist now!

Beautiful Raha scarf!! And don’t you just love Lori Lawson’s yarns and rovings? I finally got to meet her this year at Black Sheep Gathering and tell her in person how much I love Capistrano Fibers.

I live for those little detours in knitting. Sometimes you get your favorite items that way.

    Beautiful scarf!

Jeanne- You’re the first one to have a finished project from the book. Amazon won’t have theirs until December.

  12. Rachel says:

So pretty, I love the color and the scarf!

Wow, you knit that scarf fast! Great pattern and color. Too bad about your socks. Guess maybe your yarn doesn’t like that pattern. Maybe a different pattern would work out better?

Oh, beautiful! I’m all about the reds this year. I can’t get enough of that color. I’m desperately trying NOT to look at that book until I finish my current sweater, but after that, all bets are off…

I literally have to stop myself from casting on a million projects each day. Must focus on the projects at hand!
