Today is a very important day in our house – 8 years ago today, Cieara came to live with us.  We celebrate the day as Gottcha Day every year, but this year it is a little more special.  Because this year marks a milestone – she’s been with us for half of her life.

I left work a little early, and we all had dinner together.  Then we had a Cieara kind of dessert – dipping chocolate with bananas, pretzels, blueberries, almonds…and now the kids are playing Wii, and I’m watching and remembering the last 8 years and how far we’ve come as a family.  It was a little rough in the beginning, but we all made it through ok – and watching them all laugh together, I’m so glad that we chose to expand our family this way.

We are very lucky to have this wonderful girl in our family – and I’m looking forward to many more celebrations of the day she became our daughter.  Happy Gottcha Day, Cieara!
