I went for my second test today – a CT scan. It was supposed to take just a little bit, but they decided to do it another way – and I ended up being there 3 hours. Good thing I took the morning off, eh? It did give me a lot of time to knit, though, and I am halfway through a sock. I am constantly reminded what a good thing knitting is – I didn’t mind the wait at all!
When I got home from the hospital, and before I logged into work, I took a few minutes to block this….and after checking it every 30 minutes, it was finally dry….
Isn’t that amazing? I just love seeing how lace totally changes once its blocked. And I love this scarf!
Pattern: Gust
Yarn: Knit Picks Shadow
Started: February 1, 2008
Finished: February 10, 2008
I think I’ve mentioned this once (or twice) before, but this really is a great pattern – I loved knitting it, and it was very easy to memorize so I actually knit it on the train in the morning. Anything lace I can knit at 6:00 a.m. without a lot of coffee is a good lace pattern! It went so fast that I was a little sorry to finish it…
I got this yarn in a swap, and was never sure what to do with it. I’m so glad I used it for this – it is just perfect for the pattern. It is a little heathered and has some red tones to it – very pretty. And it is very soft – a pleasure to work with. I would recommend it – and you can’t beat the price!
Cieara had off school today so I wrestled her into modeling it…but I couldn’t get it wrapped around her the right way (she was very uncooperative as a model today). But I think it still looks pretty with a shawl pin, don’t you? The sides are a little pointy because I didn’t spend enough time weaving the blocking wire through…but I sort of like it. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it – it may go into the pile for gifts, or I may keep it for myself….
This little scarf really helped build some confidence in my ability to do lace. I can really see myself knitting something a bit more complicated or bigger next…although I sort of like doing these small scarves – so nice to finish things fast! And Anne has so many nice scarf patterns…
Well, two more days to this week, and then a three day weekend. Yea! I hope you are having a good week, and that we get to the weekend fast!
It’s so beautiful. It *almost* makes me want to knit something lacy;)
Beautiful!!!
GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!
Impressive! Great color and great lace scarf! The photos are very complimentary to the project, as well. Do you take the photos yourself or do you have a friendly photographer take them for you?
Beautiful!! That really is so delicate and adorable. I think you should keep that one for yourself! :o)
It is gorgeous – so beautiful – you need to knit more lace!
Beautiful scarf!
Thank you for the gift certificate to Knitspot! I may need to use it on Gust. I love how yours turned out.
Beautiful scarf! I rather like the pointy edges.
Knitting really does make waiting rooms bearable. Keep on keeping on!

You HAVE to keep that scarf for yourself! So beautiful!
Jeanne- Gust is lovely. It looks great in that color.
(what’s the point in having kids if they won’t model for you? I feel your pain)
I think you should keep Gust, too. The color is gorgeous. I have a picture of my gust in progress on my blog. Not as pretty as yours.
I was going to give mine away but my husband intervened. He wants me to keep it for myself.
3 hours for a CT scan? Mine was, maybe 10 minutes. Should I feel cheated? : – )
That is just gorgeous!
All teen models are cranky. It’s in their contract. Didn’t you know that? ;^)
I hope you get some good news soon, sweetie.
Wow, that is beautiful! I never thought I’d be into lace, but it’s been on my mind lately. Now even more so!

Beautiful! The color suits you very well, and that lovely pin!!!
I think I like the pointy edges better than a straight edge, I think it adds to the pattern!
